About Jac

My name is Jacquie Macleod-Smith, I have lived in Melbourne all my life and attended Wesley College, Prahran Campus, where I completed my VCE in 2002. In 2003 I travelled overseas visiting Fiji, UK, USA, Mexico and Europe. It was an absolutely amazing experience, I learnt so much about the world, people, different cultures and lifestyles.
I have studied photography for the past 9 years. I originally started by completing two advanced certificates of Black and White Photography at the Melbourne School of Art and Photography as well as school photography at senior level. I then went to RMIT University in Melbourne studying a Bachelor of Photography, the course covered a wide range of subjects, including digital manipulation, restoration and editing.
I have always been surrounded by children and love being around them - I began babysitting in my early teens and continued to do so while studying. I have now been working as a nanny for the past 4 years, which is where I came to realise my two passions - children and photography, this is why I decided to specialise in children’s portraits.
As well as photographing portraits, my experience also includes event photography – weddings, christenings, 18ths, 21sts, children’s birthday parties etc, all of which I enjoy very much. I like to think I always make sure everyone relaxes and has fun in front of the camera, as well as me while taking the photos!
I hope you enjoy looking at my work and reading what people have thought of it.
If you have any enquiries please do not hesitate to contact me.
